RECRUITING STATIONS
Once you have explored the different military branches and the careers they offer it is time to make your decision. Your recruiter will assist you with preparing all the paperwork that is necessary for you to join.
1. Find the recruiting station nearest you
• Army
• Air Force
• Coast Guard
• Marines
• Navy
2. Call the recruiting station to schedule a meeting. Your local recruiter may even come to you or bring you to the station if you are unable to drive there. For the Marines, you will have to wait for your recruiter to contact you.
3. Get together all off the necessary documents. Your recruiter will assist you in obtaining any paperwork and/or information that you cannot find. The more you have readily available the easier the process will be. Here are some of the things you will need:
• Driver’s License
• Social Security card
• Green card (if applicable)
• Passport (if you have one)
• Birth certificate
• Marriage license or divorce papers (if applicable)
• Legal records (if needed)
• Credit report (if needed)
• Your school diplomas and/or degrees (the actual ones, NOT copies)
• Resume
• Records, locations, and contact info of all places you have worked at over the past 5-10 years
• Addresses where you have lived the past 7-10 years
• Travel dates and locations of any time you have traveled outside the U.S.A. over the past approximately 10 years
• Contact information for people you have known up to 10 years ago
• Copies of medical records for any significant conditions you may have had recently
• Awards / trophies / achievements, and proof thereof
