Body Composition Assesment (BCA)
The navy has regulations that state how much a person can weigh based upon their height. If your weight is above the maximum allowed for your height you will be body fat will be measured. Your body fat percentage will be measured by using a ratio of the circumference of your neck and waist.
Physical Readiness Test (PRT)
The Physical Readiness Test (PRT) consists of three events: push-ups, curl-ups (sit-ups) and a 1.5-mile run. The push-ups and curl-up events are graded based upon how many can be done in two minutes. The 1.5 mile run is graded based upon the time it takes to complete. Outside of boot camp the 1.5 mile run event can be substituted with other events such as a 500 yard swim, or 12 minutes on a elliptical machine or stationary bike.
